About "Slice Diamond"
Known as Polki in India, it is in fact one of the oldest forms of cut diamonds, originating in India long before western cutting methods were seen.
They are flat on both sides and can be set on either side, and are also known as uncut diamonds.
They are not fashioned into a round or oval cut and do not feature precisely cut facets - the general shape of the stone determines the shape of the sliced diamond, which is individually handcrafted by skilled artisans.
The sparkle of sliced diamonds is softer than that of traditional faceted diamonds, and they are still used in traditional wedding ceremonies in India today.
Because they are cut just as they were when mined, it is also fascinating to see the various natural inclusions that are not present in the artificial diamonds that have been much talked about recently.
It's not too glaring, but it sparkles depending on the angle and light, so you can wear it anywhere you like.
